| Well my 2nd Cimex arrived Friday. Unfortunatley the job I ordered the 2nd machine for has been postponed til January. No big deal.
Turns out the job today was perfect for 2 Cimex's.
So we knocked out this major pain in the Butt job in about 4 hours. It was 13,000 sq ft total. All spread out. We had to do an office here, and an office there. No big rooms to speak of,...what a pain. Can't make any time on those jobs.
We did 13,000 with 8 hours Labor
(2 guy's "4" hours) = 1,625 ft per hour, for $1,200.
That's $150 per hour,... not too bad for being a Pain in the Butt job.
Super High Security too. What a pain. I hate it when they have to hold your hand while you work. |

Tom,
So which Cimex won the duel?
BTW I also have some large office buildings with offices scattered everywhere - yes they are a pain.
---------------------------------------------------------
In the town of the tumbleweeds and the lone coyote; two dueling outlaws brandishing triple barrel Cimex machines enter the halls of a dusty building.
The corridors are cleared, as clerks and accountants everywhere run for cover.
Two fierce men stand poised ready to reach for their weapons.
When the clock strikes 7 adrenaline rushes and the bystanders stare in amazement while they watch the gruesome sight unfold before their eyes.
The only sound that can be heard now is the quiet hum of powerful English motors.
A tempest unleashes as the two men press forward and mire is trapped in their wake.
Soon the only thing left standing are clean fibers as far as the eye can see.
The clerks and accountants are now safe to walk through these corridors once again.
The end.

The job went ok, but we went through pads like crazy.
We each used 2 sets of pads. That's 12 pads total for 13,000 sq ft. Ouch!
Have you considered trying a slightly more aggressive pad? Maybe a Synthetic? I'm not sure what the next step up from the hog hair is. Maybe they would be more durable? |

That's an inordinate amount of pads Tom. BTW I run mine down till they're about 1/8" thick. Normally I can get around 10K sq ft per set. The only time I get less is if the carpet has a course fiber (i.e. an uneven olefin loop). I also get less sq ft if I scrub extra slow.
I would like to find pads that can last longer. In fact I've been talking with pad manufacturers during the past couple of weeks. I've received some samples and more samples are on the way. The first samples I received are not an improvement over what we have now, so possibly the next samples will be better. I'll keep you posted if I discover a better product.
