I was wondering about salt on carpets. Many of my accounts use salt that is tracked in to the lobby areas and on the carpets. Will this build up in the carpet or will the salt be encapsulated also.

Hey Tom -

Prevacuuming is key on salt and other 'dry' residues. We have a bad one coming up this Thurs. that we're going to encaps. Will report if we have trouble, but I don't anticipate we will.

Tom,

This Florida boy has no experience with salt. Our "salt" is excessive sand. I would assume that salt would encapsulate (but this is only an assumption since I have no experience with salt).

Perhaps some of our northern encapsulators will respond. Or maybe you could clean some salted carpet and evaluate the results. Then let us know what you find. Thanks

I would strongly suggest pre vacuuming. We have several accounts that use ice melters by the tons, so far we are happy with our encapsulation cleaning in these areas. Better results than hwe, no wick backs.
We are real new in the encapsulation cleaning, however, this tells me that it is working.
