Encapsulation method on stairs

Sounds like a great idea in residential. I hate doing stairs. How well will this hold up if the customer does not vacuum the stairs? Most don't.

This question was discussed on the VLM board recently. Here are a couple of replies...

I am just starting out and have an op machine only.I tried a sears orbital car polisher but it was way too underpowered to do the job, and right now i don't want to put a lot in more equipment due to slow business.Read a post about mist and brush for stairs a while back, can someone tell me where to order and how to use. It sounds like a good product to use except for the hand scrubbing.is there some portable handheld rotary elect. brush that can be used with it?

I will save you much time and money use the brush it is very fast you can do a set of stairs in about eight min. Or I will sell you a stair tool for 450.00 very little used I brought from Argo. I am a very lazy person if there was an easier way I would do it. I am a very slow person also, it took me 28 years to firgue out a fast way to do stairs.
You may have to buy a couple of different brushs to find one that works (about 5.00 a piece).

In addition to what was posted above. I often use the small Oreck Orbiter with Spin Vac. This does a great job on stairs.

Here's one more idea. You can use a drill with a brush attached. You can get a nice brush for a hand drill from Hesco item # COM-1372 price $6.15 Here's a picture of me using this arrangement in the encapsulation test pictures...

Here's one additional post that I should have included above...

I waited almost a year to report this type of stair cleaning because I felt it was too good to be true. I also felt that resoiling would be a problem. I have gone back to these homes more than once in the year and they looked better than any other method I have used. Also this method gets most of the black filter lines which in AZ are very bad on the stairs. And most of my customers don't vacuum the stair that often.

I just did about 40 stairs (very wide) using spin vac and a brush - the kind you use to do tires with). They came out great and was very fast.
