Does anyone ever use airmovers to speed dry the carpet on a small job so you can vacuum before you leave?

Mark,

That is a good question. I’m not in favor of speed drying and post vacuuming on the same day though. Here’s why... It's important that ALL of the moisture is gone from the carpet before post-vacuuming. The crystal will not form unless the carpet is bone dry. And although the carpet may be dry to the touch in a short period of time it's best to allow at least a few hours for the drying and crystallization process to be complete (generally overnight is a good idea).

What we do is encourage our clients to provide good vacuuming. We explain to them what "good vacuuming" is. And we'll normally check to see that they have a regular routine vacuuming schedule. Yet even with average vacuuming, the encapsulated soil particles should extract readily from the carpet. Some cleaners might also consider providing the post-vacuuming service as an additional service option. However, for our clients this system addresses their needs.

I agree w/Rick -

We've tried the post-vac after 'dry-to-the-touch' and it didn't work. Even though we're using relatively minute amounts of moisture, it's still enough to fully wet the fibers for up to 24 hours. Both times we tried to speed dry the carpeting looked great at first, but horrible in about 6 hours until it was vac'd again. (using Mist & Brush)
