SV/Cimex on Restraunts

How does this combo work on commercial glue down with some drink stains and some food spills? Do most of these spots come out ok or do you incorperate extra steps? I have a 3000sq ft restraunt to do in two weeks. I would really like to encapsulate it. Otherwise it will be OP. Thanks

George,
I'd give it a try. Results may be surprising. You could also post OP over selected areas.

What would I do? Go for it. I did a restuarant with SV/Cimex and it turned out great. Except for one liquor spot. The spot came back after I was done. It was a very large spot (1 ft). What I would do next time is not wet the spot with the Cimex /SV in the regular fashion. I would let the heads dry out some on the carpet around the spot (running the heads without dispencing SV till just damp). Then take some SV mixed 1 part to 3 parts water and LIGHTLY, LIGHTLY mist the spot. Work the spot with the Cimex till gone- maybe misting once more should the spot not respond enough. If the spot is a small one without sufficient residual material to cause a wickback (like a pop drip that may be quarter sized) then go right over it like regular.

Also use SV as hot as you can make it. It helps to solubilize the oils and grease more.

Tony,
Have you tried ARA (Anti Resoiling Agent) for that purpose? I think it's supposed to be used in this manner.

Steve,

I don't have ARA so that is why I use the concentrate in that way. Seems to work fine- plus one less product to carry.

Would be a neat idea to do a head to head of similar stains and compare the spotting techniques.

Tony's homemade ARA aka Spin Vac will work just fine. I agree with Tony - one less product. We still use ARA in our business, mostly because we still have a lot of it on hand. Plus ARA works great and I'm of the opinion - if it isn't broke why fix it?

Restaurants with the Cimex & Spin Vac???

I don't recommend this because I don't want to oversell the system. However we do use the system on 3 dirty/busy restaurants that we service once a month. Guess what? Everybody's happy with the results.

Shhhh But don't tell anyone I said that - because I still avoid recommending this system for restaurants. I can just picture somebody going out to clean a greasy Chinese restaurant (you know the kind, where you can't even see the carpet anymore) and complaining, I thought this was supposed to work!

Bottom line: The system will work on moderately soiled food service carpeting.
