When I was looking to buy I was wondering the same thing. In the end I choose a cimex. It is built like a tank, will last forever. It has multiple uses- strips floors, scrubs excellently for cement or other cleanup work, can be used for bonnet cleaning- although I never done this. Also for myself, showing up with some big machine to clean the carpets was more impressive. If I showed up with some thing that is smaller then a vacuum and looked like one, then I think that I might encounter more resistance to selling the system. Also the Cimex is a production machine on more soiled carpets then compared with the GLS.

So those are some of the reasons I like the Cimex over the GLS.

What Tony said.

The GLS is a lighter machine if that's helpful to you.

Oh ya I did forget that. But being 6'2" and 300+ pounds that isn't something that is too noticable to me. But for "lesser" users the weight might be a factor in choosing which machine is for them.LOL.

The Cimex will provide you much better agiation of the carpet fibres, net result better cleaning action.
Higher production rates, more professional looking piece of equipment, and multiple uses.

Because the Cimex Tank holds 6 gallons of solution, and it's less likely that hired help will do any damage with the Cimex compared to the GLS. By damage I mean either damage to the machine, and/or damage to the customers property.
I can put a hired hand on the Cimex, fill it up, and not worry about that guy for about an hour.
Production can be higher with the GLS, but the 2 gallon tank runs out pretty fast.
With the GLS always I would always worry that a hired hand that's not paying attention could wrap up some computer cables/phone wires etc. in those cylindrical brushes. Next thing ya know ya got a bill from an electrician for repairing the wiring that was yanked out of the wall.
