Chemstractor for residential?

July 3 2003 at 10:04 AM

I want to say I enjoy reading the Cimax forum, I have learned alot . I have been cleaning commercial carpet for only 3 months using a 19 " Cimex machine . I have had requests from several customers about doing their homes. Since in talking with Rick G. and reading alot of posts I haven't tried using my Cimex for residential cleaning.( I've heard there are better options) My question is how many of you are using a Chemstractor for residential and how are you using it?Brushes, pads, bonnet? And what chemicals?I have talked to Rick and several other people using the Chemstractor, and would appreciate some other imput before I invest in the machine. I want to go after the Low Moisture, quick drying residential market.Thank you all for your assistance.

WE have been very sucessful with our chemstractors(we own 3) in residential and commercial for that matter. We use a dirt napper and 13" 100%cotton bonnet with great sucess. feel free to call me at 850-784-2555 and i can answer your questions.

Both of the comment above are very good.
Bruce’s suggestion about using an OP machine is a popular method. I have never done much OP cleaning.

I have done a LOT of Chemstractor cleaning through the years. We used the Chemstractors heavily in our commercial cleaning for about 10 years before we started using the Cimex machines. We had 3 of them / still have two. In addition to commercial, we also used them for residential cleaning. We've now switched to the Cimex machines because they scrub deeper and they're faster for commercial.

In the past couple of years we have phased out of residential cleaning. But we still occasionally get a call for residential, and I still take care of a few. On any residential jobs we get I still use one of our Chemstractors with encap detergent. A Chemstractor combined with a good encap detergent is a nice low moisture system.
