CIMEX Guilt

I bid and got a job cleaning a 3,000 sqft deck made of plastic planks that look like wood. I bid the job thinkinking I would be using my Conqueror and tile brush. After 10 minutes I remembered I had my CIMEX in the van. I presprayed the deck with Abstraction TLC and filled my CIMEX tank with fresh water. I ran the CIMEX with the shower feed wide open. The deck looked new and it took less then two hours. Fortunately the owners were not there because it would be hard to ask for the $600 check for a two hour job. Like they say, work smarter not harder. The Conqueror was doing an OK job it was much slower. I estimate it would have taken 4-6 hours which is still decent money for the work involved.

The hardest person to convince you are worth the money is YOURSELF. I often times have the same feelings. But when I think of all the jobs that did not pay well and barely covered costs- I quickly feel better. It is finally nice to have a system that can clean well and make $175-$250 per hour consistently. Its my highest paying jobs (encap)and that is after being in business for 5 years.

Just did a private school- carpets looks so awesome, I was even impressed. Averaged $175 per hour. Need some more work like that !!!!

You hit the nail on the head, I bid the job for what I thought it was worth. I was cleaning the carpets in this house and saw the owner covered in sweat as she was scrubbing the deck with clorox and a broom. She wasn't getting very far. Unless you had a Cimex or pressure washer you would be in for a long day. Perhaps $600 was a tad high but she was willing to pay that and she was happy. That is what matters. It maks up for those jobs you under bid and only make $30 an hour.
