Cimex belts

Rick, As I have mentioned my Cimex is old, around 20 years. I notice that on some carpets it slows the motor down till it stops the pads. I'm assuming this is not normal but since I have no one to compare with I thought I would ask. I'm inclined to think that it is the belt(a belt spray helps)so I'm wondering if the belt type has changed on the new ones. I removed the old one but could find no description. Can I get one from you? Cost? Thanks. Jim

Hi Jim,

I wasn't sure so I placed a call to Cimex about this. As you probably know, the company has changed ownership a few times since your machine was built 20? years ago. So ordering parts for your old brown Cimex is a bit hazy.

However we're thinking that the belts for the standard 19" machine "should" still fit your old machine. But here's how we can find out for sure. Take the cover off the bottom. Remove the belt. Take a string and carefully inch it along the length of the belt. Then measure the string. This will take less than 10 minutes.

If the old belt is the same size as the new belt then a replacement is pretty inexpensive. A new belt will run about $50 with shipping.

Let me know what you find out.
