Orbital/Encap

Just wondering if anyone here has experience with
encap using any of the orbital machines. We have
both Challengers and Oreck LowBoys. The LowBoy's
open-center pad holder should allow the mounting of
a tank, although we have always sprayed the carpet,
so as to maintain what I consider greater control over
the application of cleaning solution. The Challenger,
on the other hand, comes with a closed-center pad
holder, so unless it could be modified or replaced,
I would think a tank couldn't be used. Either way,
I would think that the 1750-RPM random orbital
movement would provide unbeatable agitation.

There are a number of cleaners who are using our FiberPlus pads for scrubbing with OP machines. It's the same pad that we use for scrubbing with the Cimex machines. The FiberPlus pads are a synthetic pad with an elastomeric rubberized property that helps them to hold up to carpet scrubbing. They're texture is well matched for scrubbing carpet fiber, and they scrub more effectively that a shampoo brush. The FiberPlus pads can be ordered by clicking the store page if you're interested in trying them.

We use the Challenger with the fiberplus pad, or a regular bonnet pad in confined spaces, or in areas where it is hard to get the Cimex machine. We prespray the carpet and than agitate with the OP machine and leave. Works for us.
