How long are the carpets wet after encapsulating? 10 minutes, an hour, longer? Thanks for the help.

There are a number of factors that affect drying. How thirsty is the fiber? (i.e. wool holds more liquid than nylon, nylon holds more than olefin) What is the humidity level? What degree of HVAC circulation is available? How heavily was the solution applied by the technician?

Here in Florida where we have 98% humidity almost every day, we see that carpets are normally dry within about 2 hours. And if air movers or other means of increased circulation are employed the drying can be accomplished in even less time.

That covers drying. Curing is another issue. The carpet still should be post vacuumed no sooner than the following day. The crystallization process requires at least 24 hours so that the polymer can cure. This cure time allows ALL of the moisture to dissipate from the fiber, thereby full crystallization can occur.

Our experience is similar to Rick's reply, depending on conditions we get carpets dry between 1 and 2 hours, the good thing about the process is that foot traffic right after cleaning has no effect on the final appearance.
