| Since lots of postings have been coming up about empties as well as residential I came up with an idea today: Now, not alot of us like to do apts but they can be good money if you are set up correctly and can get decent money ( I have a friend in my area that gets $125-150 for a one bedroom and a liitle more for a 2bed). So - if you want some of these, send out a mailer to selected apt complexes and offer to give them a free cleaning on a move out. Let them know you are trying out a "new" system that cleans great and dries quickly (just what they need!). Let them know you are not looking to take over the account but that you are looking to test the system and get some written feedback from them (aka testimonial). So here's the great thing - you get to play around with encap to see how far it will go AND if all goes well you could probably get a bunch of complexes to use you. Also - imagine this: pulling up to a complex in an Astro van or even a pickup truck with a Cimex, GLS, spotter and spotting kit rather than a gas guzzling - frozen hose truckmount (you can see the kind of day I have had today!). Whaddya think? |

That's not bad idea for someone to try it, but $125 & $150 for one bedroom Apt? I never heard that before, I thought that Apts are $25 & $35 for one Br, maybe $10 more for an additional Br. I do one Apt complex and charge them $50 and they think its a lot.

It does seem like alot but I fill in for him when he's away so I know that's what he gets. I think that every time they get a cheap fly by nite co. in that they screw it up and they go back to him. It is a pretty nice complex and they take good care of it. But even at $50-$65 I would think you could do better with encap rather than HWE. Plus there are always the extras -- repairs, floods etc. Not sure how many you could do in a day.

I too think that this is a decent market. I have a couple of complexes that i work with. I do it as 'fill in the blank' type of work. they give me a heads up' when the apt will be ready and I work it in the schedule to fill in my schedule. This way, i can do it for their price and it is money that i guess I would say, that I wouldnt have made if my van sat idle. Maybe when i get too busy, I will rethink but then again, I like loyalty. I dont have a full tray' so to speak of. I do it too because i have a good friendship with the owners. when i was starting out, they gave me the opportunity and I havent forgotten that. that is probably the main reason I stick around. They were friends before i was cleaning. that relationship is important. but to clean apts. just to clean them, I dont do. but they can be money makers. I get 59.00 for a typical smaller one BR and 75.00 for two BR and stairwell. Both take less than an hour so it isnt bad. Better than hitting the streets. They appreciate the work that i do and i like to keep busy. but i dont give up the money maker to do an apt. that is why they give me a 3-4 day window to get it done. Works for me.
