Duct Tape Residue

February 28 2004 at 12:46 PM
Mike

I have a job lined up that I want to Encap. There is one problem it is a commercial gluedown with lots of Duct Tape Residue. Is there a way I can still do it without having to bring out the TM.

Duct tape residue requires the use of strong solvents. (And even then, if the residue is old, there's a possibility that all of the residue won't come out.)

Using plenty of strong solvents in the carpet suggests the need that we rinse the fiber. So it sounds like you will need a little HWE spotter machine, a HWE portable, or a truckmount for this project.

A steam vapor machine has numerous uses. We use one
to soften gum and wax for easy removal, and now & then
have used it to remove tape residue. There are many
brands available. We use the Fogacci. You can check
it out at www.vaporpros.com.
