water rings

I work with another owner operator here in kc from time to time on stuff that is beyond his methods capabilities. Last week he called me up to see if I would go along with him on a cheese steak restaraunt he cleans monthly, he uses the CleanPro system it is a canadian company. It is pretty much a dual scrub bonnet system. Anyway I went with him to do this place and he called me so I could hwe a good size area were the drain hose on the ice tray of a soda machine had broken and caused a dark ring. Well we presprayed with a high ph product prescubed it with his rotary and then did a clear water rinse, then post bonneted it. The next day he swung by and the ring was back just as dark as ever.

I have done a couple encap jobs both of witch had water rings by chance. Do you all think encaping would get rid of this pesky black line??? Thanks

One of the advantages of the encapsulation process is it virtually eliminates wick backs, and that is what has happened in your case. You may just try to bonnet the area, but avoid over wetting just surface clean and let it dry.

The 50/50 Releasit process works well in most cases for situations like you have here.

I gotta second Rick's post- I suggest applying the 50-50 mix only to the outline of the ring, agitate slightly, let dwell for a bit, then encap the entire thing as usual.

If you have one of the Stand Up filtration line and grout brush, this is perfect for this kind of job.
