The LMCCA has offered introductory membership to Cimex users

April 5 2004 at 5:06 PM

Rick Gelinas

Today I received an e-mail from Lonnie McDonald (president of the LMCCA)...

"It would be cool if we could offer a Gold membership to each Cimex buyer. The fee would be 25.00 for the Trial Gold Membership. That fee covers our paper work and postage for the year."

What is the LMCCA?

The LMCCA is a non-profit organization that was started by a few of us cleaners about 3 or 4 years ago to help promote low moisture cleaning. At that time anything aside from from hot water extraction cleaning was considered sub-par cleaning. Well we've come a long way in a short time since then.

A lot of progress has been made in the past couple of years to put various forms of low moisture cleaning on the map. One of the BIGGEST developments is the recognition throughout the industry that encapsulation is a viable cleaning alternative.

Whew! When I first started talking about the word "encapsulation" man I took a lot of abuse. LOL But now encapsulation is considered to be a valued approach to carpet care throughout our entire industry.

The LMCCA (Low Moisture Carpet Cleaners Association) is a group directly committed to promoting recognition of all the various low moisture cleaning methods. And its goal is to show that when performed properly these methods can be restorative. Again, a good example of this would be encapsulation.

So in line with Lonnie's request, if any of you are interested in taking advantage of the LMCCA's Gold membership offer you can go over to the LMCCA website and sign up. Be sure to include a note that you're a Cimex owner to take advantage of the offer http//www.LMCCA.org

I find the membership thing with LMCCA very confusing, seems to be several different classifications, why not just one for cleaners and one for suppliers?

Don,

There are three memberships.

1. LMCCA membeship only

2. LMCCA and WFCA joint membership

3. Industry Partner

Hope this helps?
It is defined at the lmcca site.

Thanks Rick for the kind words.
I might add the Rick is one of those co-founders.

Lonnnie
