400 rpm is the best speed for commercial carpet.

I saw firsthand where an 800 rpm speed machine disfigured a commercial carpet's pile. I also know that on many commercial carpets the 800 rpm machine has performed just fine. However there's enough of a question mark in my mind about running an 800 rpm machine on carpet that I would NOT recommend it for this application.

Now if you want to check out the BADDEST marble grinding machine on the planet for under four grand - then we have an 800 rpm Diamond Finisher ready and waiting for you.
