Rick, about your Brushes

in Steve Frasier's post below you mentioned "The 4807 brushes are just right for grout. But they're way to aggressive for a wool rug - they're even too aggressive for some commercial carpets.

The 4805 brushes are very soft and are ideal for wool rugs and carpets with delicate fiber construction."

i think you have these numbers reversed ??
the 4807 is the softer and the 4805 is the more aggressive according to the Product page.

you also mentioned that the "medium" brush is even too aggressive for some comm carpet, is that correct? if so, do you recommend the softest bruses for comm carpet and the medium for tile / grout only?

thanx --- Derek

I stand corrected

April 25 2004, 3:43 PM

Well I'll be darned - you caught me making a mistake. And it was the first one I've made in 2004 besides. LOL

So here's the correction.
Here’s how that post should have read...

The 4805 brushes are just right for grout. But they're way to aggressive for a wool rug - they're even too aggressive for some commercial carpets.

The 4807 brushes are very soft and are ideal for wool rugs and carpets with delicate fiber construction.

Thanks for watching my back Derek!

And to answer your question Derek, we only recommend the FiberPlus pads for commercial carpet. They are the perfect match for carpet cleaning and perform much better than brushes.

:P

i was actually thinking of ordering one set of brushes, but was not sure which to get.

ideally, i would like 1 set that could do both :
- pre-scrubbing for HWE on comm glue down and carpet tiles.
&
- scrub ceramic tile / grout.

i am guessing the medium bush / 4805 .?.

thanx --- Derek.

Yep the 4805's are the ones. But you will need to break them in on wet concrete for about 10-15 minutes before you run them on carpet. And even then, you'll still need to to use caution when you run them on sturdy commercial carpet.

Here's a better option. Use the 4805 brushes for tile and grout. And use the FiberPlus pads for carpet. Perfecto mundo!
