on the VLM forum you posted this, "Occasionally, I go back over some traffic areas with my high-speed rotary and cotton bonnets to make it look nearly brand new. This is especially good to do if there is a browning problem, because after encapping, you can spray an anti-browning agent on it and buff it in."

what RPM is this "high-speed rotary" running at?

if you mean a high speed burnisher, i thought that could burn carpet and may also be dangerous for the operator (throw ya into a wall or something lol).

thanx --- Derek.

Also, does the anti-browning agent affect the properties of the encapsulation to not crystalize?

Derek,

Yes, I am crazy. But I'm not CRAZY! Running a high speed burnisher on a carpet would be an exorcise in how to "destroy" a carpet rather than clean it! LOL When I say that I use a high-speed rotary bonnet system, I am referring to my Betco 300 RPM floor machine.

My main source of income over the last 10 years has been residential carpet cleaning and I have always preferred VLM methods over HWE (nothing wrong with HWE - just my preference). I have tried every which way to use my beloved Cimex machine in residential cleaning but it is just too darn big and too darn heavy for my needs. So, my high-speed rotary fits the bill.

Since I always keep them both in my van at all times, it is only natural that on a few commercial jobs that I Cimex, I will pull out the high-speed rotary and "touch up" certain ground-in entry ways, traffic lanes, etc. I'm not saying anyone with a Cimex "needs" to do this. I just have the rotary right there so sometimes (rarely) I do. Its nice to have options.

As for the anti-browning agent messing up the crystalization of ReleasIt, I think it was Rick who first posted about using Citric Acid (anti-browning agent) with ReleasIt to correct browning and/or yellowing in some carpets.
