couple questions

Brian Vanous

only been encapping about a week now, so far its great! couple things, I'm using a 275rpm 20" swing machine and white burnisher pads, and using a hand sprayer to apply Release-it. I'm getting about 1000' per side on the pads before they are dirty and sticky. about right? I have a 24" driver for it, would that be too much rpm and start burning carpet?. I have a huge pile of Pioneer Blue Burnisher pads, would they be too agressive?

thanks for help!
Brian

I think you playing with fire, get the right pads or use a carpet bonnet pad

what Don said. step up and buy some FP (FiberPlus) pads....they are no doubt comparable in price to your other pads. use a couple cases of FP pads, and by the time you are finished with them, you will have had enuff experience of your own to know whether or not other colored pads will work on various jobs.

but yes, if you are new to Encap'ing, then buy the correct FiberPlus pads. or make sure ya have some solid liability insurance hehe.

thanx and good fortune --- Derek

The light-blue Pioneer pads are soft enough to use for encap cleaning.

If you can put a solution tank onto your machine you will see even better performance than you're seeing with spraying it down. Don't ask me why, it simply works better to shower-feed the solution. Plus your pads won't get grungy since they're being rinsed while you're cleaning.

Brian, I'm really happy to hear about your success with encap - keep up the good work!
