Another use for Releasit

So, yesterday, in the middle of the job, I am HWE with my Truck Mount, the drive belts for the blower started slipping. Smoking. Squealing. You know this story.

I change the belts- I always carry spares because they always fail at the worst possible moment dontchaknow.

With my Ballweber, it is a fairly simple task, done in about 20 minutes. Back to work.

But first, I gotta clean my hands. Greasy, dirty. Can't go into Mrs. Piffelton's fine palace with grubby hands, can I?

I have used several things for greasy hand cleaning. I have a couple on the truck. But more handy was the gallon of Releasit sitting there, grinning at me, with it's pump on it that dispenses 1 ounce per push. Every other container I gotta pick up and pour or squeeze out the cleaner. So, I put my hand under the pump, and got maybe half an ounce and without water, just the Releasit, I cleaned my hands, wiped the dissolved grease off with a towel.

Clean!! Not sticky! Even under the fingernails. How does the gunk get under fingernails, anyway?

So, just to be on the safe side, I rinsed my hands under my machine's cold water outlet, then dried on another towel. Nothing on the second towel but wet.

OK, I am gonna start re-packaging Releasit as hand cleaner for mechanics, and am gonna get rich quick!!

Try it next time you have greasy mechanic's hands!!

Gary,

Not only do your hands now smell great, they will resist resoiling because of ReleasIt's flouropolymer, no matter how many times you vacuum your hands!

Great story Gary.

A couple of months ago my wife was having a bridal shower at our house for a close friend of ours. Since I was banished from the house (no guys allowed), I took the opportunity to clean out my storage shed out back. It was long overdue for a good cleaning. I worked all afternoon and into the evening. Finally at around 7PM I was about done. The girls were still inside having a good time so I went and grabbed a jug of Releasit and dissolved the grunge from my filthy hands - rinsed with the garden hose. Then I walked over to the neighborhood Sushi restaurant and picked up a box of Sushi (I was to grubby to eat inside). I then sat out back and had a nice meal with my clean hands. I put the last few things back into the shed and the girls took off - my exile was over.

So Gary you may just be on to something there. I guess we'll have to reintroduce Releasit as a hand cleaner. LOL

And another thing.....

June 18 2004, 2:07 AM

Buying gas yesterday, my windshield was dirty. Is the attendant gonna clean it? Whaddya think? No chance. OK, I get the long handled scrubber/squeegee, dip it in the solution, and clean half of my windsheild myself. (If you want a job done right, do it yourself!!)

I walk around my van to do the other half of the windshield. I wonder if Releasit really dries clear? I spray some on the second half, rub the dirt around, and squeegee off. Today, both sides were clean appearing, I could actually see through it. Coming home, with the sun shining directly through it, I could see marks from the squeegee edges on the one side, not on the other.

I will see in a few days whether either side attracts dirt, dust, etc. So far. so good.

I am gonna get rich quick, selling Releasit as window cleaner.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

SAd news

Well, sorta. Today, my windshield started showing the lines from the edges of the squeegee I used to clean it with the Releasit. So... the Releasit is not encapping the dust and dirt once it dried.

BOOO HOOO!! I coulda been rich!!
