adding a smell

one thing people always noticed when I HWE carpets was I usually added a little "citris" cleaner to it, mostly for the smell. Would it hurt to add a little to Release-it to get that orangy-clean smell as I encap?

thanks for your help guys!

My understanding Brian, is that the chemistry of Releasit is very sensitive. too add something like a citrus cleaner would probably disturb that chemistry, but I'm sure Rick Gelinas will be able to tell you more.

when we are done cleaning a job, people say it smells good. I wouldn't ad anything. If you ad something it will probably leave it sticky when it dries.

Two things come to mind.
When you mix two chemicals together, you now have created a new chemical and you could be responsible to produce a MSDS sheet, don't think you want to go there.
Adding another detergent to an encapsulation detergent will effect the crystallization of the product, should only be done if necessary to correct browning or some similar condition. If you want to leave a different smell, spray something into the air space. Remember what you think is a nice smell may have the opposite effect on other people.

It's a bit risky to add other ingredients to Releasit. The crystallizing polymer can be bumped out of whack and then the product would no longer encapsulate. I would advise against it.

Why not take a trigger sprayer with the same citrus smell

and spray into the room you are working, same effect with little change to the chemical
