My kids moving into a house thats been empty for a bout 2 years. just has that "old house" smell. I'm going to HWE with a disinfectant(they have a new baby) than encap to brighten the appearance. Can I do right after HWE or should I let dry first than encap

and thanks everyone for all your help while I get this figured out !

I just did that last night! Although I did let it dry first . It was a gymnasium that was carpeted (church). I HWE with my truckmount in the am, then returned at about 7pm and encaped, what a difference! worked great. Thought about encaping immediately aftewr HWE but chickened out and returned. Any thoughts Rick?
Good luck

I think that you did it right, if you want to perform both methods (HWE & Encap). By permitting the HWE'd carpet to dry, you're allowing any wicking that may occur to happen. Then when you perform encap cleaning you're going to see the bright clean results and the carpet should stay cleaner longer too.
