Comm. Contracts

June 23 2004 at 1:12 AM
Derek Beyer

the latest ICS mag has a nice article by good ole mr. Toburen that discusses the benefits....and possible negatives.... of commercial contracts.

i havent read the entire article yet (the trade magazines are typically my "bathroom reading" lol), but the short of what i gathered so far is :

benefit - definitely get a signed contract. as Rick mentioned in a thread below, someone offering a verbal conract won't always be taken as professional as someone offering a piece of paper and a pen.

negative - do NOT offer them a contract with tons-o-reading involved. if it's too complicated, it very well may scare them off. i know personally if i have to bust out my dictionary and call my lawyer to go over the fine print of a contract, i'd much rather toss it in the fireplace.

lovin the trade mag's (and especially Steve's articles!!!) --- Derek.

BTW, are mr. Toburens articles always about commercial carpet care?? seems it is all he talks about and i am glad it is!
