| Did another retail store last night. Tan loop glue down. really bad stained and traffic laned. Seems only way I could get it cleaned up(which it came out the best they have ever seen it I was told)was to really soak it down.
Used shower feed, gettin the hang of it now, on 4000' used about 12 gallon of RTU. Foamed like heck first pass, scrubbed only 2nd and 3rd pass. Carpet seemed really wet yet when I was done. what is the average coverage of RTU ?
thanks,
Brian

According to the Excellent Supply website 300 square feet to a gallon of rtu. Looks like you were right on target. |

Not if he had foaming and it was soaked, I would say he used too much. All one wants is a white film on the carpet, if you have foaming than it is away too much solution, and you will defeat the purpose of encapsulation cleaning. This is to be a low moisture fast drying system, one of the main reason it has become so popular.

When I tried to just get a light foaming on tips, It didn't clean up. When I added more and foamed it up good it looked alot better, but was left wet. It was a solid white mat of foam, than I worked it in a couple times. This was the first one that I've had that didn't clean up with a very light foam on tip. When it was clean it changed color from a grungy brown to a medium tan that it was sposed to be. I would imagine wicking would be possible even with encap when done like this?

Did it foam up from the RTU Releastit or from what a previous cleaner left behind?

I/m guessing from using too much Releasit. But is it too much?
I too get into some dirty restaurants. I have to make a second pass or use more of the solution to get it clean. I too try wetting the tips but it doesnt work.
You may try the prespray first method Brian, then giving it a little dwell time, then showerfeeding like normal on the cleaning run. That too works good.
If I get it too wet, and it happens sometimes, I just put an airmover on it to jumpstart the process. Rick told me that it doesnt hamper the encapsulation or crystalization process.
Just a thought.
Continued Success.

what "commercial board"?
i also have done a double wet pass on really stubborn carpet.
wetter : yes.
cleaner : yes.
or as Steve said, consider pre-spraying the slightly stronger RTU down...mixed at the rate mentioned on the jug. i personally havent done this yet...seems like a good idea though.
thanx --- Derek. |

Derek, the commercial board is the ICS hardfloor board that refers more to tile and grout and VCT care. good info.
go to the ics homepage and follow the path. Better yet...
www.i-boards.com/bnp/cfc but only after you soak up all the info from this board. LOL

Thanks for your help with this, its a great way to clean carpet, just a little different than I'm used to. This is another great board like the floor care board, there is good info and no crap. Its great to be able to ask a question and just get good answers and not get a bunch of junk along with it. Hope I can help you guys out in some way too!
