Soileze Protector

July 6 2004 at 9:52 PM

Rick Gelinas

I received this question in an e-mail today, so I figured I'd post my answer here in case anyone else has a similar question too.

Here's the question...

I just wanted to clarify that the Soileze that is coming out Friday is a protector that is to be applied after we encap, no waiting 24 hrs. etc.

I am sure this is what i am reading, just wanted to be sure.
To me, the only downfall with encapsulation so far is that it can't be protected, if you were in a residential berber for example. I dont protect my stores too much, since I get to them every other week or monthly.
Thanks.

Yes. Soileze is an after-cleaning spray-on Protector product. All of our products have this fluoro-chemical added to them. Here are the four reasons why we added the fluoro-chemical to the Releasit products.

Four reasons for having a fluorochemical:
1. Our fluorochemical helps to release the crystal from the fiber.
2. Our fluorochemical lowers the detergent's surface tension, so the surfactancy of Releasit increases.
3. A balanced formulation containing a fluorochemical can help stop wicking.
4. Our fluorochemical adds a degree of soil resistance to the carpet.

As noted in number 4 above, there is a measure of soil resistance imparted to the carpet. But there may be times when your customer would like something more in the way of additional protection. I had received a number of inquiries about this. So when the customer can benefit from a fluoro-protector treatment we now have a good protector that can be offered.

In the past we hesitated to recommend applying a Fluoro-Protector following Releasit, because it would likely mess up the crystallization process. Well now that’s no longer an issue. You can apply Soileze right behind any of our products – it’s completely compatible.

Here’s the product description for Soileze…

Most carpet and upholstery protectors are effective with either water or oil based soil, but not both. The advanced fluorochemical technology of Releasit® SOILEZE™ protector has exceptional oil, water, and alcohol repellency. As a result, carpet and upholstery treated with SOILEZE™ will exhibit outstanding soil resistance and stain releasing properties.

SOILEZE™ Carpet & Upholstery Protector is compatible with the entire Releasit® product line. SOILEZE™ will impart soil and stain resistance that is as good as or better than the original mill applied protection. SOILEZE™ incorporates sophisticated fluoro-chemistry designed to impart unprecedented protection.

SOILEZE™ protector also meets all VOC regulations. Safe for stain-resist and synthetic carpet and upholstery fiber.

I think you guys will be impressed with all of the new products.
