Is Encap-Traffic better?
It's different.
To answer your question --- our original Releasit product (now called Encap-Clean) probably has more cleaning fire power than Encap-Traffic from what I've seen. In actuality, I think you'd be hard pressed to find very many products out there that can out-clean Encap-Clean straight across the board.
Encap-Traffic is designed to be used primarily as a traffic pre-spray in a HWE application. Sure, you could use it with Encap-Clean. But Encap-Traffic was ideally intended to work in tandem with Encap-Rinse.
Where Encap-Clean was a great product in the commercial setting, Encap-Traffic & Encap-Rinse can bring encapsulation to the residential HWE cleaner.
One of the tests I did with the final samples of these new products was on some old carpet that I scavenged out of the trash pile at a carpet store. It was an old piece of 15+ year old nylon carpet. It had strong filtrations lines. There was a wear path in it too. The carpet was nasty. I soiled it even more before I cleaned it.
I proceeded to clean sections of this carpet with a little Bridgepoint upholstery/spotter machine. With this puny extractor I was able to do a surprisingly decent job of cleaning this tired old piece of discarded carpet. I did a lot of other tests too, but this test in particular convinced me that we had hit the mark.
All of these new cleaning products are designed for a specific task. The chemistry has some similarities in that they all crystallize and contain the fluoro-chemical, but the surfactants are different. Each of these products has been designed to fill a particular niche.
I had lots of people asking me if they could use Encap-Clean in a HWE application. Of course that wasn't what Encap-Clean was designed for. We also had people asking how they could apply a protector such as Scotchgard or Teflon and that too wasn't really feasible. Our new products were created to address these requests.
The only product that wasn't a direct request was Encap-Spot. Encap-Spot came out of a conversation that I had with our manufacturer. They told me that they felt they could produce this technology in a Spotter. My initial reaction was "no thanks". But they urged me to consider it. Well what started out as an idea that I wasn't even going for has turned into the apple of my eye. Encap-Spot is a neat product. It can tackle all kinds of tough stains. It doesn't require rinsing since it's an encapulating cleaner. And I've also added enough tea tree to the mixture to deal with moderately odorous stains.
O.K. I'll stop now. Can you tell that I'm just a little excited about these new products?
