Sorry for my ignorance.
What are the reasons for limiting
encap only to commercial and berbers?

great question Jorge. actually i may have given you a false answer in my email. Encapsulation will work great on cut pile carpets. i was thinking of strictly Encap'ing with a Cimex or other rotary when i said to stick with Encap'ing only commercial carpet and / or berbers.

but with Rick's new formulas designed for HWE, you can definitely use that form of Encap'ing with any type of carpet.

my bad bud

take care --- Derek.

BTW, i did a TRASHED off white berber for a resi client yesterday...new home they moved into and they were gonna have me give it a shot before replacing it. they (and myself included) didnt think it would come very clean. large spills and large what appeared to be rust spots were throughout. even smaller (what i considered to be) rust spots where furniture legs left indentations in the berber. i Encap'ed with my Cimex and my clients were floored that they can keep their carpet. i am still very surprised. every single spot came out, not 1 was left. i only used a 50/50 mix of the encapsulant as a spotter and that was all, no other products. $207.75 for 45 minutes of scrubbing with the Mex. oops, i was supposed to post that on the ICS forum, my bad

Thanks for the point Derek. What about encaping using only a Rotary or Cimex for cut piles at customer's house?

a GLS or Host machine will do fine in residential. I also like a rotary or cimex for really nasty's then a damp bonnet finish.

I also like the tattoo Jessy James of monster garage has in his hand "PAY UP '$' SUCKER"

one of the major downfalls of encapsulation in the residential environment, was you couldn't use protector, which to me is very important.
Now that Rick has his new products out, this is an option.
I use the Cimex to clean some berbers in the residential arena.
But i am a HWE fan for the most part. Most residentials are in need of a good flushing.
I usually ask myself, 'will anyone be lying, sleeping, eating, crawling, etc. on the floor?" If the answer is yes, I prefer to steam clean it or something other than encap.
Encap is a great tool. I am a hugh fan. But the more tools you have in the box, the better you service your clientele.
There is a place for each chemical, method of cleaning.
Knowing when and where to use a particular item or method of cleaning, is what distinguishes you from others and makes you a pro.
Good luck and Happy Cleaning.

Encapping residential

Well, I have a 17 inch rotary shampooer- a Chemstractor. With it, I have encapped just about every kind of fiber, weave and appearance. Wool plushes and berbers. Nylon plushes, Saxonys, and berbers. Olefin berbers and cut pile. even polyester plushes. Same results on all of them. Go for it. AND!! loose rugs of all kinds- wools, nylons, olefins and acrylic rugs.
