Today we had a killer day. I started off early on door duty with Warner Braun (the President the Carpet and Rug Institute). What a privilege it was to spend an hour with a man who is shaping our industry and the perception that carpet has in the public's eye. I got to pick his brain just a little.

The morning session was very interesting. I especially enjoyed the area rug session with Scott Rendall, Nathan Koets and Mike Reed. The stuff these guys covered was fascinating. Man there's a lot to know about rugs!!! I conducted a session on Encapsulation Cleaning in the morning too that seemed to generate a lot of interest.

In the afternoon I enjoyed listening to Howard partridge who was charismatic as ever. Every time I hear Howard I just want to light my business up - very motivational stuff. I didn't get to hear as much of the afternoon session.

There was a LOT of interest in encapsulation at this conference. I got to see many of the folks who are using this system. It was a real pleasure for me to get to hear experiences from several Cimex/Releasit users. It was uplifting to me to hear real life experiences from several business owners whose businesses have really moved forward in large measures with this system. That was nice.

This evening we had the dinner and auction. That was HILARIOUS watching some of the industry leaders trying to outbid each other for cleaning stuff as well as silly items. You should have seen two grown men trying to outbid each other for a novelty purse with a brassiere on the front of it. Everybody was dieing laughing. (I think it finally went for $67)

Well just one more day tomorrow. Saturday will be the trade show all day for me.

I expect to go to Summerfest in Knoxville in Sept, but have not yet committed. But I am committed to go to Las Vegas for Connections convention there in Nov. So we will certainly see each other.

And certainly meet a lot of the posters again, old friends getting together is always fun.
