Fiber Plus Max Pads Reviews?

anyone have any reviews on them yet?

i have used them twice now. the 1st time was (for me) a large job. i used the Max pads on half the account. while that isn't enough for me to give a thorough opinion, it didnt seem to be any better than the regular FP pads. the cleaning of the 2nd half (with regular FP pads) was at least as good as the 1st half with the Max pads.

the two things i noticed with the Max pads were :

1) they didnt seem to create the amount of foam that the regular FP pads do. i am guessing that maybe it is because they are "stiffer", and dont have as much surface contact.?.

2) they made the Cimex a little harder to push. no biggie, but when i push the Mex for 5+ hours, ya can really feel that extra exertion lol. wouldnt be that big a deal if i had seen a cleaner difference.

as i said, i havent used them enough yet to compare the 2. i look forward to testing them both again soon!

has anyone found the opposite to be true?

thanx for any feedback --- Derek.

I think you will have to have a certain carpet to get them to work good. maybe Rick will let us know.
i used them twice, once i couldnt get them to work..hence,wrong type of carpeting. they had alot of drag and the heads didnt want to turn. It was a low level loop, just not the right situatino for those pads i guess. Maybe I didnt have them wet enuf though. i dont think it was a tight enuf loop.
but the soii level was there. They werent trashed, yet dirtier than normal.
But I tried them again on a restaurant that I do.
It was a real low, tight loop. and they worked fine.
So i think you have to have a certain type of carpeting and probably that, low tight looped commercial type. yes, that may seem to describe them all, but they are different more than we know. IMHO
other wise, i think the FP pads will work.
yes or no Rick??
thanks

Steve

Yes, the Max pads have a lot more grip on the carpet. So the condition that Steve spoke of can occur. Do not use them on any cut pile carpets. However on an olefin loop or a tight nylon loop they will work well. When the Max pads are new, the first few feet of carpet cleaning on fresh pads will produce additional grip to the surface, however as the pads soften they'll become very smooth to work with. And as mentioned before use the pads carefully since they are aggressive. I would estimate that the Max pads can increase the speed of cleaning on a challenging job by approximately 20%.

Steve,

One of the reasons the MAX pads worked real well on that restaurant carpet is because of all the grease involved. The carpet was "pre-lubed"! LOL

All I do is commercial, and for me after trying them (Max pads),I will be changing to them almost completely, except for the occasional "soft or padded carpet", which I do come across some times in older buidings.

Cleaned faster, lastedm longer for my commercial work that I have been doing.

Just my 2 cents.
