Here are some thoughts about cleaning toner...

Dry vacuum like crazy! I've heard that you should avoid using a vacuum with a beater bar because it can activate the toner and make it harder to remove.

Also, toner is heat activated so clean the area using cold water.

You may need to treat the spot with a 50/50 mix of Encap-Clean. Our spotter also contains some solvents that will attack the toner. You might also consider trying a VDS. After the spotting process I would follow up with a normal cleaning with Encap-Clean.

I read on one of the boards that someone took out toner using Releasit. They mentioned that the spot wasn't perfect after cleaning - but it came out completely after it was post-vacuumed. Proves the point that Releasit continues to work with post-vacuum cleaning.

Oh and one more thing, hopefully the client hasn't messed with it too much already.

Hope this helps ya.

toner is SOOOO easy too remove if the ppl that spill it and try to clean it up would just grab a canister vac or an upright with a wand. as Rick mentioned, the beater brush (or any wiping action) will just rub the toner into the fibers. suction via a wand picks it up completely in ALL of my many janitorial experiences.

thanx --- Derek.
