Rick:
Thank you for the prompt response in sending the pads for the Cimex.
Are the gray pads use for glue down carpet and the light colored pads for regular carpet?

Juan,

The beige pads are for ALL TYPES of commercial carpet. They can also be used on most residential type carpets.

The gray Max pads can be used on commercial loop carpets. They are highly effective. I estimate that they're about 20% more efficient than the original beige pads on a challenging commercial carpet. Since they're more aggressive use caution to keep the machine moving. They can also be used for floor cleaning.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve you. BTW it was great to meet you at Summerfest.

I know Rick says to use the pad on commercial, but we've been able to use the new pads successfully on residential, too.

BUT! It was totally trashed, and there was no point in worrying about damage to the carpet, since it looked so bad it needed replacement anyway. The landlord of the apartment, who had college students living there and partying it up, had no other real options except replacement. We were the less expensive option. Came out great...did not damage any fibers.

Clay,

For the record, I always prefer to err on the side of caution. I don't want someone to get the wrong idea and possibly damage something. You see, when you're recommending methods to an industry ya gotta be careful. Thanks for sharing your observation though, cuz I'm sure you can get away with using the gray pads safely.

Trying different methods to see what works and what doesn't. I have used the grey pads on some residential carpeting. It didn't seem to damage the carpet, but the pads where worn from cleaning other carpeting.

Rick,
Going to clean a trucking company carpet this coming Saturday. We were doing a monthly bonnet service and quarterly HWE. 9/11 happened, thier business slowed down and they havent cleaned the carpet in 2 years. It is bad. Going to cimex part and hwe part. Want to send some pictures. What is the best way to send them?

Steve,

Just e-mail them to me. I'd love to see them. And I'm sure that everybody else would too, so maybe we can post them here too. Have fun!
