lysol, tar & stains

I was at a woman home today, that tracked tar on her carpeted steps. She got most of the tar out by using Lysol Kitchen cleaner. It been a few week now and the carpet keeps showing spots where she cleaned.
The carpet is padded and is from Home Depot. It is made from either of the following:
100% olefin
91% olefin & 9% nylon
85% olefin & 15% nylon
I use a low moisture process and the only vac I use is a wet vac. Is there a way or product that I can use to help this woman.

My guess is that you still have some residue from the tar. I would try some dry cleaning fluid or some other solvent. Also, check the ph on the carpet and then adjust the ph accordingly. Hope this helps.
