Injured Cimex

i am pretty sure i injured me Cimex a few months back. back then i posted the story of how my Cimex fell off my ramp when i was taking it off the van. it smacked HARD on its side causing the blue base / plate (dunno it's name) to hit the asphault with such force that it left a 1/2" crease / divot in the driveway...Cimex has a dent in the side of that blue plate now to

anyways, it makes a VERY light screaching noise at times, not often. today i cleaned some apartments (cut pile) and it actually stopped rotating a couple times when i would lift up on the handle and put the full weight of the machine onto the pads. i am sure it was a little on the dry side, i was being stingy with the solution, but still, i dont recall it ever stop rotating before the accident. does that sound normal Rick?

if she is damaged, any clue what could need fixing?

thanx Bro --- Derek.

Don't fret Derek, I doubt if that what you've done is more than cosmetic damage. If it were really broken, it wouldn't run at all. You say it runs fine and makes an odd sound every once in a while. It's not uncommon for a Cimex to make different sounds at times, it's a belt driven machine. The fact that the heads are turning indicates that there's nothing binding. If you had seriously damaged it I suspect it wouldn't run at all. I think you actually nailed the problem when you said you were skimping with the solution. You're belt is getting older and a little slippage is normal. If you were running it on the dry side on a plusher carpet, that would explain it. BTW the belt will last for years with heavy use, so you don't have to be concerned about that either. So think of your Cimex as a machine. It's a tough machine. Work it hard, deposit the funds, and don't sweat it.

you've eased my guilty conscience

now is there any parts you recommend keeping on hand just in case something went due to normal wear and tear?

thanx --- Derek.

Thats one more thing I like about the cimex, everytime you start it up it sings a new tune. Most machines make the same old sound all day LOL.

Derek i've noticed on mine if the tank has a lot of soultion in and you need to put the handle up high the head will stop spinning also. I thinking its to much weight on the head. And the screaching noise i have is the axel sometimes turns a little and makes a noise, that could be your noise i didn't hear it on mine for a while then ond day i started hearing this noise and thinking whats wrong with my baby.
