X2's Are Ready To Go!!!

December 15 2004 at 7:51 AM

Rick Gelinas

The X2's are now ready.

We had a little delay waiting for the tanks. We were waiting for the tank manufacturer to produce our first production run of the red 4 gallon tanks. Well good news, they were delivered yesterday. So we're ready to roll.

We've already sold a few of them - thanks for being patient guys. I think the wait will be worth it for you - this machine is sweet. Another super way to perform encap cleaning!

That's great news
Question for Rick
I hear all the time that Cobb's machine sounds like a freight train, have you addressed this issue with your machine?
Most of our commercial accounts have people working no matter what time we go to the building and the noise level is a major concern to both us and our facility managers.

Don, i know that Paul Brown comments on the sick noise from his Cobb machine. if he is who you are referring to, i believe he has a "prototype"...from what i had gathered the machines are not as loud.

dunno the db's though.

thanx --- Derek.

X2 EncapMachine

Hope some of those are heading up to Canada, want two right now for sure.
Anxious to try them out, will be a great tool for doing the edging and pile lifting prior to Cimex cleaning.
Good timing Rick, busy time just after the New Year.
Thanks

“Noisy as a freight train” I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. LOL
Possibly a passenger train, but certainly not a FREIGHT train.

The earlier machine that Cobb sold was noisier. Some sound deadening has been added to the present X2 version. Now I wouldn't say that it's a quiet machine. But it's not a real noisy machine either. The X2 has a sound level similar to or quieter than a normal upright vacuum cleaner.

You wouldn't want a little weasel machine would you?

NO!
Just would not want people complaining about the noise, that's all.

same level, or less than, a vacuum cleaner sounds just fine to me. according to mr. Brown's posts, these machines outdo the Cimex....that's a HUGE statement! any feedback on that yourself Rick?

i cant wait to be in a position to try one myself...hopefully by summer

thanx --- Derek.

Outdoing the Cimex would be another exaggeration. Don't get me wrong, the X2 is a great machine - but I don't see any way that it will outperform a Cimex.

So I am a little slow, Rick

Rick what would be the advantage then of the X2 over the Cimex. Cost? Also, I am going to put you on the spot. Will you be using an X2 in your business or still sticking with the Cimex?

I am not Rick, but one advantage would be that these type machines are already approved by many of the carpet mills.

Kevin,

Yes I'll be using at least one X2 in our business and possibly more as I build it into the business. Of course I believe the Cimexes will always be our main work horses. But I'm honestly excited to have a new tool to work with. The Cimex will continue to be the monster scrubber, there's no arguing that. But I think the X2 can also complement the Cimex as a smaller machine. And I'm eager to see if I can get it to really go the distance as a pile lifter vacuum cleaner - everything so far looks good on that.

So to sum it all up... I like the affordability of the X2. I like its compact size. I like the vacuum capability. I like the fact that it can scrub almost as deeply as a Cimex. And from a supplier's standpoint, I like the fact that it fits a unique niche that a lot of cleaners have a need for. I think it's going to be a successful machine.

another question Rick

December 16 2004, 11:27 PM

mr. Brown has posted that he finds these machines to have a faster production rate the the Mex. you have pointed out it isnt the scrubber the Cimex is, but is it faster? i believe Paul mentioned hitting 4000 sq.ft per hour. if this is true, then while it isn't as aggressive as the Mex, maybe the X2 excels on jobs that arent as trashed, just have a mild to average soil level that needs cleaning....and the job will be completed faster.

sounds great to me!

thanx for your comments Bro --- Derek.

4,000 sq ft?

I've read Paul's comments too. And I've got to question where a person can come up with 4,000 sq ft. That would really be pushing the machine to the absolute extreme. From what I've seen, the Cimex will outscrub a cylindrical brush machine without exception. And 4K is simply not going to happen with a cylindrical brush machine on anything beyond the most slightly soiled carpet. I think we should probably get a few more people running the new machine before we conclude what it can truthfully accomplish. Paul's a great guy, but I'm not agreeing with everything he's been reporting about the new machine's potential. But hey, if he's even close to right - the new X2 EncapMachine will be even better than I imagined. Cool! So let's hope he's not too far off. The X2 is a great machine and I can appreciate Paul's enthusiasm for the version of the machine that he's been working with.
