In my directions, (Sept.28-04 - you can look it up), there is enough information that those who are perspicaciously astute will stop staring at their computers and start staring at their Cimex until the picture comes into focus. They will not wait until some sorry ass, lazy procrastinator sends them pictures. They will just do it.
Repeat after me, "I don't need no stinking pictures from a lazy ass procrastinator." Once more, "I don't need......

Ades - have you put these wheels on your Cimex? If so, how did you do it?
And a Happy New Year to you, also.
Thanks for giving us the site. |

Ades I can't see it.
Site opens but no Cimex there.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. |

There is no cimex there , they have wheels with 1" hubs if you want to insatll taller wheels.
Put wheels in search to find them.

The McMaster site is an amazing site with a great number of wheels and tires.
However, I don't believe that any of them can be used on the existing Cimex axle to help climb stairs.
First of all, you need a large diameter wheel, or wheel and tire,12" to l4" in diameter. All of the McMaster wheels of that size have a width too wide to fit on the Cimex axle.
Secondly, you need a pneumatic tire with low pressure (3-5 lbs), so that the "give" in the tire will enable you to pull up the stairs in a straighter line. This is a wheel, tire combination.
Now, you have a tire in the 4" wide range. The Cimex axle isn't long enough to hold a wheel and tire of that size. <br /
In other words, the bigger the wheel and tire, the easier it will go up the stairs.
Maybe I should try an 18" tire.
It looks like you still need a separate axle, which is my solution.

Yep, and yep. Of course, I'm an old man, so I've had lots of years to get strong.

I pull mine up a flight of steps too and don't have bigger tires yet. It's a bugger bear, just be careful going down.

| Re-Size of tires or wheels and tires | December 31 2004, 3:12 PM |
Pulling my Cimex up stairs today, I noticed how the tire fit on the
step and realized that an l8" tire is too big for the average step,
which is in the l0" wide range. A l4" tire would probably be o.k. but I don't think anyone should go bigger than that, imho. |

does your 1 key not work? lol
so Bo u recommend a 14 inch tire?
thanx for the clarification --- Derek. |

| Re-14" tires | December 31 2004, 6:29 PM |
I have 12" tires on my machine that work for me. (Remember that I take them off when I clean). 14" would be marginally better, so if I were to do it again, that would be what I would do. |
