Help with a Bane Clene

January 2 2005 at 11:29 PM
Joe Mellon

Hi all,
I am getting back into the biz after a few years off.
I am looking into a tm bane unit, but i can not get any feedback from the NAPC boards. Just a lot of guys telling me not to buy one but they cant tell me why not to buy one.
I want to use the bane for homes and get an encap unit for doing offices.
Any info on the bane.
Thanks for the help.

I have worked with bane portables, very similar in power to their tm's just smaller and without the fresh and dump tanks. Most people will tell you to buy something else because they are overpriced and under powered. I will tell I will not ever buy one again. But I will also tell you that they are reliable, except I had problems with the pump and had to get all parts from bane, and the big advantage to the bane is that they run of electricity which can save you money. The tm do heat the water somewhat, which combined with mechanical agitation you can clean as good or better than most cleaners. Another thing about bane is the support, you will get better support than most tm manufacturers. Now if I were you I would get a butler cause of much better power, more heat, better company(my opinion of course), better set up in van, and more reliable. I just bought a new butler and I am very happy with it. I have plenty of space for a rotary, the big conquest vac, and more in just a standard size van. If price is an issue then you can always buy a used butler(lots of em listed on bulter's sight). If you have to have a bane then get it and make sure you have something to scrub the carpet with, and you will be fine. Hell with gas prices like they are the banes don't look so bad.

Great Machines!! The base unit disconnects from the TM and goes up in an elevator - great for big hotels!! We did a water extraction job on the 14th floor of a high-end hotel. No need to pull hoses up the side like my competitors!! EXTREMELY reliable, cheap to run and powerful enough. Banes philosophy is low pressure (<200 psi), warm water (140-160 deg); let their excellent chems do the work. Cleans just as good as a big TM, because they designed their chems to work in their machines. Buy a used one if you can, new are 13k and up. I bought mine used (a Paramount)and refurbed it myself (but I had the time to do it). Cal Nick Snyder @ 800-428-9512 he'll hook you up.
