used the Soft Brushes today on an apartment...

went to take before pic's and my batteries were dead. fortunately the client had taken some before and took some after so hopefully she will get them to me. i was thrilled with the results. the off white cut pile was trashed...cat & guinea pig urine spots, vomit, soda, juice, dirt...u name it.

i ended up not post-padding. the carpets appearance didn't warrant it in my opinion, and i didn't want to rinse out any of the Releasit.

i used the FP pads on all the rooms but 1 bedroom. came out great to my relief. i then used the soft brushes on the 1 bedroom. looked good. so i put the pads back on and went over the room again, came out just a hair better. then i went over another area with the soft brushes that i had FP padded earlier...no difference.

so as advertised, the Soft Brushes are not as aggressive as the FP pads, but they did a good job.

what i liked about the brushes was the carpet was drier...i attribute that to the bristles "aerating" the tufts...kinda like raking the carpet. i could also use less solution because, as you prolly notice, when u squeeze the trig with pads, it takes a couple tics for the solution to hit the floor, while the brushes it is more immediate....so no "guess" work in terms of, "when will the sol be hitting the carpet?". that's at least how it seems to me lol.

i am glad i bought them. on carpets that are fairly clean (not trashed), i will use them from now on....will save me from going thru more FP pads. at least in the resi arena i will, i am not sure how they will fair on commercial carpet. i might try them tomorrow on comm, but i may be coming down with the flu so not sure.

thanx and have a great weekend --- Derek.

Thanks for the report Derek. I've wondered the same thing. I clean several very large commercial buildings with the cimex that other than an occasional spill I'm often basically just providing routine maintenance cleaning. Appearance wise the carpets don't look much different after I clean them because they didn't look soiled before. I've often thought in these situations something a little less aggressive than the fiberplus pads may provide the level of clean I'm looking for without any unnecessary aggitation. Especially considering the fact that these are carpets that are cleaned a several times a year.
Keep us posted.
