RH48 Cimex...January 29 2005 at 11:29 AM |

| Is anyone familiar with the RH48 model? I couldn't find anything on any websites. I'm thinking the local supply house guy told me it had a pad speed of 1,000 RPM. I'm guessing that's too fast for encapping? Does anyone know that specifics on the RH48?
Thanks.

RH? Not familiar with that designation. At least it's not a current model. And there are no 1,000 rpm models in the line up either. Sounds like somebody may be giving you some funky information.
We'll be happy give you the BEST price available on a Cimex if you're interested. If I can help in any way just give me a call.

Watched a guy running one a few months ago that appeared to be doing around 700 or 800 rpm. I don't think it was turning 1000 but it was turning much faster than the ones I am familiar with. |

The Diamond Finisher spins at 880 rpm.
It rocks for grinding and honing stone.

You think you could encap with the brushes at that speed (700-800 rpms)?

Yep, it is possible to encap durable commercial carpet with the 880 rpm CR48DF machine. My brother Dave uses his diamond finisher (without the added weights) on commercial encap jobs all the time. I personally think that 400 rpm is a more appropriate speed for carpet. But hey, Dave is successfully cleaning a fair amount of commercial with his machine. I'll give him a call and have him share his thoughts on this.

We do use the 800 for carpet cleaning and have had very good results with it. I have used it on booth commercial and residential carpet. Most of the time it works very well on booth, the only thing that I personally have seen is that on some cheap residential it will cause some lint balls, but then again so does most types of agitation on cheap carpet.
I have guys that work with me that have lots of experience with the 400 and then they use the 800 and they’re just blown away by it. By how much faster it scrubs and by how much faster you can push it. They, as well as myself, use it on our own personal carpets in our homes. Then of course you always have the added benefit of it being able to be used on stone (marble/terrazzo). But maybe you don’t do stone work right now but chances are you do VCT or tile & grout or any other thing that you need very good agitation. All I can say is that the RH48 DF has work very well for us in a number of areas. Yes I guess you could possibly, cause some damage, to some carpet, somewhere; but I can’t personally see how, why or where and I think that is why Rick is not a public advocate of using the 800 on carpet. For myself, we clean thousands of feet a month with it and it works very well and we haven’t had any problems with it.
If anyone would like, feel free to get in touch with me and I’ll gladly talk with you more about it.
