OK, guys, I have a flyer and sales letter made up to market to BIG commercial accounts (office bldgs, big hotels, etc.). Next step? Do I buy a mail list, and send the info? What would you guys do? I dont think its feasable to drive around a major city and knock on every door?!

Thanks!!!

Homework, homework, homework. You can buy a list, it'll save you some time. Save your $. Try to call 10-20 of these businesses a week. Tell 'em who you are and that you are trying to find out who you would send some information to. Once you get the name, drop them a letter with your flyer. Let 'em know you will be calling in the next couple of weeks. Offer them a free trial demostration with no obligation. You won't get in every door, but you will get in some. Once they see what you and the Cimex/Releasit program can do, you've got the hook in their mouth! I know this, when you mention to them that you can virtually eliminate wickbacks, you've got their attention. Then you show 'em! Good fishin'!
Of course, I'm open to other ideas by the many great pros here on this board.

You can also contact your local Chamber of Commerce. Many of your businesses and hotels are members and the chamber will have the mailing list which also contains the POCs name. As for hotels, you can also find your city's home webpage. Most of those will have a link for vacationing/visiting/accomadations there. You can get the hotel addresses & phone numbers there. It's free and fast and you can do that from home.

Search function isn't working right now. When it is, search Jim Wolverine. You may find your answer there.

Jim W-o-l-v-e-r-t-o-n....not like the animal. I used to work for him when I first got into carpet cleaning. The guy is truely a genius when it comes to marketing.

Mailing list

February 8 2005, 12:30 AM

Hi,

I purchased a mailing list a few years ago when I had an office cleaning biz.

Most of the names were outdated and a lot were doubles on the list: example:

Dr. Smith, Fox & Box. 12 Easy St.

On one card, a few cards later the list would say: Dr. Smith
12 Easy St.

And so on.

So if you didn't check your work you could be sending three or four letters to the same office.

Also the cost was about 200.00 for a 1000 names.

Then I had to deal with spam mail and phone calls from the list company wanting me to update.

My advise is hit the street and use a phone book.
