| Rick,
"Proven technology within the commercial carpet industry
A number of the largest commercial carpet manufacturers in the country are recommending and/or using various forms of encapsulation cleaning to maintain their commercial floor coverings".
“Another interesting fact is that the Steamin Demon is the ONLY machine that Shaw has ever endorsed by name. They were so impressed with the Steamin Demon that they made an exception to their policy of not naming equipment.”
Will SHAW endorse the CIMEX/Encapsulation?
“Shaw is all for high flow extraction.”
It's a sound approach for extraction cleaning in the commercial setting.
Add a Steamin Demon and you now have a COMPLETE maintenance system for commercial carpet care. Perfection!
Encapsulation for normal commercial cleaning and high flow extraction when flushing would be beneficial.
Well instead of buying another machine,
if needed I could use my 500 psi extractor.
Rick,
Last week I wrote a letter to SHAW asking if we use a CIMEX/releasit combo on there commercial carpets will we be VOIDING our customers warranty.
No reply as of today.
I'm NOT trying to stir the pot but
I thought when we (my wife & I) purchased the Cimex & Releasit combo “we had a “COMPLETE” maintenance system?
Honestly, I wanted to purchase the ROTOVAC to add to my extractor.
But the misses/partner was pushing for the CIMEX now she would like to know “did she make a mistake”?
PS I love the cimex
WERE JUST WONDERING

Tad, I sold the RotoVac I had. Using it with a portable is not practical. You cannot fill and dump fast enough. When using it with my BaneClene truckmount and 120 gallon solution tank, I would have to stop and reload. Rick is on the right track here. I now use the Cimex, GLS, Ninja and 2sp bonneting. I will be adding the Steaming Demon and with that combo I will be able to cover all the bases w/o spending another 15 to $18000 for another Truckmount. After I get the SD I will drop the Ninja. |

"LUCY You Got Some Splainin To Do!"
Yes Tad encapsulation is… "Proven technology within the commercial carpet industry. A number of the largest commercial carpet manufacturers in the country are recommending and/or using various forms of encapsulation cleaning to maintain their commercial floor coverings".
Now I’ll go ahead and try to clarify this whole thing for you... Yes. The Cimex/Releasit system can be a COMPLETE system. We've used it as a stand-alone method for going on 3 years in our cleaning business, and our carpets are continuing to look better than they ever had before. Keep in mind though, we MAINTAIN our carpets. What about the trashed, abused, totally dirt plugged carpets out there? For a certainty, with a few good cleanings we can encap those messed up carpets back into good condition. However many folks out there will turn to HWE for these extreme carpets. I say, if you're going to use HWE, you might as well get all you can out of it.
From our experience we’ve seen the Cimex & Releasit (as a stand alone system) accomplish the best results possible on practically every commercial carpet between 95% - 100% of the time. The success rate is truly closer to 100% percent than it is to the 95% I mentioned. Now by comparison, HWE (as a stand alone system) very frequently fails on commercial glue down carpets. So encap has it’s place in the commercial cleaners toolbox. But that does not have to be to the exclusion of every other tool. And since these are tools and methods, it makes sense to expand the toolbox. That is why I feel that the Steamin Demon with Cimex makes for a nicely rounded "system" approach.
BTW, I’ll also mention that I’m currently looking into adding additional COMMERCIAL cleaning products. I'd like to be your one stop shop for commercial carpet care. I've been in the commercial cleaning business for 23 years now. It's a sector of the industry that I'm comfortable with. Therefore I'm combining my experience and the little I've learned along the way, and that's what I am offering. I’m trying to put together the best systems for commercial carpet care possible.
So Tad, don't fret over buying a Cimex. It's the BEST commercial scrubber on the planet! Adding the Steamin Demon simply amounts to adding the best commercial extraction on the planet too. And since you've had experience using a Cimex and Releasit I’m sure you meant what you said … “I love the Cimex” BTW I love mine too!
You asked; “Will SHAW endorse the CIMEX/Encapsulation?” I seriously doubt that they will do that. Like I said, it is Shaw’s policy to refrain from naming products. They made a rather rare exception in the case of the Steamin Demon. Shaw hasn’t stated anything negative about the Cimex. And I don’t imagine that they will. Quite simply, the planetary design (unlike a rotary design) will not damage a commercial carpet. But I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for them to name another machine; it’s not likely to happen.
Well I hope that answers some of your questions. As you already know, you own a serious piece of equipment and a sweetheart of a commercial cleaning system. And soon we’ll have more serious equipment options that may possibly interest you too.

To add to Ricks comments
I know Shaws has and is testing the Cimex and Releasit.
To my knowledge at this point they have said anything negative about it yet.
That in of it self is a great accomplishment.
If anyone here has seen the mounds of equipment they have in there testing labs you get a better understanding of what I mean. These people test everything that comes on the market.
Although I have not used the Cimex out side of scrubbing Orientals I trust Rick enough to say he would not mislead anyone or sell them something he knew would not deliver the goods.

I think that Shaws, like other mills, will tend to respond to the reality of the market, rather than try to write their own reality. So if they notice more and more companies using a system that works, they will have to take a harder look at it.
So if we keep doing what is logical, and using the methods that work, despite whatever is written in their manuals, they will eventually respond to the reality we are writing.
Takes time, but it happens. |
