I have replaced the cord on my Cimex. If your cord is bad , hopefully it's below the strain relief connector(where the cord goes into the machine).I cut the cord off , leaving a foot or two out of the machine. I then bought a yellow heavy duty 20 amp LIGHTED cord, and a 20 amp male connector, that I wired up to the 2 foot piece left on my machine. This has a couple of benefits. One, you know by the lighted cord end when you have power. Two, you can unplug about 20 pounds of dead weight off your machine when you have to drag the beast up stairs.Three, if you haven't noticed how "grabby " the stock black cord is, its an anchor , pulling it across the floor. The yellow heavy duty 20 amp cord I replaced it with has a smooth covering, so it "glides".
If your cord is bad at the strain relief connector, and needs replaced, buy a good heavy duty 20 amp cord, preferably with the lighted end feature, and a strain relief connector, (Lowes, Home Depot ect.)Take the screws out of the sides and make your self a drawing, color for color of the old cord. Black for power, white to neutral and green for ground. You can either cut , strip, and wire nut the wires together, color for color, or refer to your drawing and buy the needed connectors and crimp the right fittings to the wire ends, and screw them tight. With some patience , I'm sure you can replace the cord yourself.

Power Cords

I have an older Cimex where the power cord has a connector a foot or so below the restrainer as Walton fabricated. The other benefit is you can disconnect and take the mex back to your water source instead of carrying 50 lbs of water back to the machine.
