Problem

March 7 2005 at 8:00 AM
Jeff

This last weekend after using my Cimex when I went to wind up the cord the bottom cord hook fell off the machine. It looks like the weld snaped. What should I do about this Rick?
Thanks
Jeff

Well, you could do what I do. I wind the cord up and stuff it in the tank. It's faster than winding it around the pegs on the Cimex and it doesn't go anywhere. Of course, that doesn't work if you've got a tank full of cleaning solution.
I usually am able to mix just the amount of solution that I need, so I use it up.
I also have a quick disconnect on my hose if I need to drain solution into a container. It drains while I'm doing something else. I don't like to leave solution in the tank. Others leave solution in the tank - fine.
None of this will save your business but every little bit helps if it saves time and makes things run smoother.

after some jobs, especially apartments, my cord is swathed in hair / fibers. my sol tank would be filthy in no time. and it isn't easy reaching in to grab that filter either lol.

thanx --- Derek.

Derek,
If I had a cord that was covered in hair and junk I would not feel that I had left behind a carpet that was clean. You need to get a GLS,or something like it, and pile lift that garbage out before you use the Cimex. The Cimex isn't going to get that stuff out. It's a scrubber, not a hair lifter.
Secondly, I looked in my tank just now - absolutely clean.
Thirdly, if you cut a piece out of the top of your tank,(to make room for your arm), you can reach into the tank easily. Make a circle cut in the top just big enough for you arm to go in. Unless you try to fill your tank to the very top it won't make a bit of difference in how the tank holds the solution.
Good luck to you. You make it sound like you're cleaning chicken coops.

Jeff,

I looked at the picture you sent me. The problem was apparently caused by a break in the spot weld that holds the threaded piece to the handle. This is the first time we've seen this, and I apologize for the inconvenience. I spoke with the importer and we have some ideas on how to take care of this for you. Let's talk tomorrow and see what we can do to get you taken care of.

thanx Bo

any apartments i've cleaned have been "run down" to say the least. even after a thorough pre-vac, no vac gets out all cat hair that i know of. not chicken coops, just real world cleaning. if you do apartments, you must do special ones....but maybe your not in my boat and don't need to do them.?. if so good for you.

i don't want to cut anything out of my sol tank, read of it before and not interested.

thanx --- Derek.
