Releasit smell???April 20 2005 at 12:47 AM | Mark Anthony |
| Has any one had the problem of the RELEASIT bothering custy's about the smell? I did an Italian Restaurant the other night; the owner was very happy with the Cimex process but had customers complain about the smell. I got the maintenance every month on it but he asked me if I could spray a scent on it. I do use a neutral Apple scent on other accounts with HWE. Will the neutral Apple scent change the process of the REALEASIT? Is it safe to use?
Thanx :~)

Fogging or spraying lightly with your apple scent shouldn't be a problem. But I'm surpised to hear they didn't care for the tea tree scent. It imparts a very light aroma during cleaning that dissipates after the carpet is dry. Hey maybe we could make you up a formulation with pizza fragrance for this customer

As Rick Knows
I personally do not like the scent
The one place I tryed the chemical on did not care for it either.
I am sure most do not mind to odor though.
Rick if you could come up with different scents I bet you would have another
winner

Some people just don't like the smell. I did a demo the other day at a club manager's office. He said it smelled good but was giving him a headache during the process. |

my wife has used facial cleansers and similar products with Tea Tree fragrance for years. myself, i've never liked the scent. it would be nice to have other choices if possible...or maybe find out if a product could be added to it.?. maybe it just won't work as well without the TT oil lol.
thanx --- Derek. |

| A little info about Tea Tree... | April 20 2005, 10:36 PM |
Well guys Tea Tree is a keeper. It's one of the ingredients that makes Releasit unique.
Tea Tree adds more value than any other "synthetic fragrance" can bring us.
Here's some information about Tea Tree.

And that is why we formulate our products with this costly ingredient.

Very interesting. Maybe the guy who got the headache had some gram negative bacteria and that's why his head started hurting! |

| P.S. You ought to be marketing this to your clients | April 20 2005, 11:10 PM |
You should probably also consider marketing Releasit's attributes to your clients. You're buying some of the finest products on the market, that gives you some bragging rights with your customers. Here are some statements about Releasit that you can share with your clients...
1) The cleaning agent that we use contains a soil suspending crystallizing polymer that can't attract soil, so your carpet will continue to stay cleaner longer between cleanings.
2) Our cleaning solution is also formulated with a soil resistant fluoro-protector.
3) And our cleaning formula is blended with Australian Tea Tree essential oil for a natural scent that freshens your carpet as we clean.
I hope that some of these marketing ideas may be helpful to you all. It makes sense to bring these benefits to your customer's attention.

LOL Kevin a "gram negative bacteria headache".
It's hard to say what caused his headache.
My wife gets headaches all the time. I always figured it was living with me that was to blame.
Personally speaking, Nancy and I and our employees have cleaned MILLIONS of square feet of carpet with Releasit and no one has ever gotten a headache from Releasit. But then again, different folks have different sensitivities to different things - so ya never know.

A few drops of pepperment essential oil, found at most health food stores, will hide the tea tree oil fragrance and not harm the crystalization.

I've handled literally tonnes of TTO which we imported from Australia directly in the days when its quality was controlled by the Australian Government, much like the French use "appellation controlée" for their wines. Also, the price per pound in those days was something like US$35. It may still be controlled as we got out of the business about 5 years ago.
So, yes it is an expensive ingredient with some interesting properties, but properties that are similar to "disinfectant" oils such as pine oil, or d'limonene...even the soya methyl esters. These are all natural products too, with interesting properties.
And whereas the Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations for TTO are nice to know, as listed by Rick in his post above, I wonder just how effective TTO is as an antibacterial/antifungal compared to, say, pine oil at US$1 per pound in the limited amount of time the product is in contact with the soil - and in the dilutions ratios in the RTU product?
No doubt Rick has evaluated all these...? |

All I know is that I like it, most costomers say they do, and never had one say they didn't.
I'm all for using soybean oil, but dunno what the customers will say when the carpet smells like french fries.
