padcapping with OP

I am concern about fiber distortion when padcapping with my CCS conquerer. The fiber seems to unwind and become distorted. I am currently experimenting at home and not sure what the carpet fiber should look like after OP. I tried all the plastic glides that came with the machine, and thoroughly wetting the cotton pads. Am I being paranoid, or am I doing something wrong? Please help and thank you

hiyas Van

are you new to OP cleaning? i am looking to get into it real soon myself.

what type of carpet are you OP cleaning? the newer shag (Frieze)?

this is my biggest concern with OP cleaning to, that it might distort the fibers/tuft bundles on certain carpet types and fiber types. but most of the OP cleaners i have spoken with tell me that with a glider it is safe....though a couple told me privately that they do not feel it is safe for the new Frieze type carpet.

if you are doing a Frieze type carpet (shag), you do need to use a glider no matter what OP machine you are using...and make sure you are putting down enough cleaning solution to lubricate the pad & glider.

thanx --- Derek.

BTW, call CCS and speak with them directly about your concern.

When you are in situations that require you to be less aggresive on the carpet fiber, use one of Steve Smith's DuraPads.......

Or... when you are in situations that require you to be less aggresive on the carpet fiber, you could use a Cimex and soft brushes.

Planetary action doesn't cause tip blooming.
