Marketing?!?!?!?!?!

Listen everyone. I want to know if you all have a Marketing System you want to share..
Look at the real world out there. If you purchase a Franchise, or a Truck Mount Unit like Prochem, they give you a free Marketing System along with your new unit. Why can we not see if you or maybe you Rick have such a system. I looked at purchasing a Marketing System, but guess what??? To much money for me a little guy. Some would probably say "You have to spend money to make money!" I do understand that, but if you have lots then it’s easy for you to say that. Sooo... Does anyone have any ideas how we can put a powerful system together with all your knowledge and make a System to help out the little guy? I think that we can turn the world of HWE to a world of CIMEX CLEAN.

Thanx :~}

Do a search on marketing. Rick does have a 10 step process and PDF marketing flyer on the home page you can download for FREE! I found commercial to differ from residential in that the only sure fire way to land jobs is to talk to them in person. Very few commercial managers find cleaners through coupons or flyers. I tell all my residential clients about my Cimex/Releasit system for commercial and many get me contact names at where they work. Also Rick's 10 step method is designed to only accomplish one goal, and that is to get him face to face with the decision maker where his sales skills and demo can take over. lol.

MA, email me and I'll be more than happy to share with what very little I know. I've just recently come across a method that seems to be getting results so far.

I've had the best luck in commercial by sending out fliers with your services to property managers, real estate offices and constuction companys. Than about a week later have have a woman(a very important thing there, a guys voice don't work), I just use my secritary, call and ask if they seen our flier, whos in charge, and try to set up a meeting with them.

I get to meet about 25% this way, and get jobs about 1/2 the time. I've tried this seveeral ways, and the sexy womans voice is what gets me in the door.

Mark,
There are great programs out there you can buy. Some people don't like Joe Polish. I've never used his stuff, but he seems to be a go getter and some very successful people have used his stuff. I've got a couple of Howard Partridge's programs and have been happy with 'em. What it all boils down to is your comfort level. Are you comfortable with your own ability to market or is it an area that is not one of your strong points...that's what you have to figure out. Marketing, in my opinion, is simple. I consider it one of my strong points. Personnel management, on the other hand, is not. In fact, I stink at it. I assume you and I are in the same boat, we can't yet afford to hire someone to do that which we are not good at. For your basic marketing, do a search on the board for marketing, absorb what others here and on other bbs have done and are doing. Take what you like from their materials that they have graciously shared and throw out what doesn't fit your personality. For encap, use Rick's flier. It's eye catching and full of information applied properly so it's not too long and doesn't lose your prospect's attention. Then, just go get 'em. The only difference in the way a man puts on his pants is in which leg he chooses to insert first! YOU know more about maintaining his carpet than he does. If he acts like he knows more, well, he's doing that....just acting, because he doesn't. Anyway, didn't mean to get so long winded.
Good luck. I'm nowhere near the success yet that many of the wise people on this board are. However, I know I can market, so feel free to email anytime!
Good luck and keep up the good work.

Time to Kick Butt

May 23 2005, 11:03 PM

Hi Mark,

I've provided a lot of the marketing techniques that have worked for our cleaning company...

http://www.network54.com/Forum/message?forumid=228309&messageid=1110892064

I've also provided the marketing brochure that you're free to use...

http://www.excellent-supply.com/Commercial_Carpet_Care_System.pdf

Hopefuly this will help you to get the ball rolling.

However it's nearly impossible to write one-size-fits-all off-the-shelf material for every end-user out there. We all have different approaches, different guarantees, different staffing, different job targets, etc. I don't feel qualified to provide this type of service. However I am always willing and happy to assist you any way I can. I'm eager to share what I've learned.

I would like to share something that I picked up from Jeffrey Gitomer's "Little Red Book of Selling" (a book I recommend reading). The author has a cartoon that encourages readers to KICK THEIR OWN BUTT. Good advice indeed!

So get out their and Kick Your Own Butt. Get in front of some decision makers. Things will start to happen if you'll regularly dedicate a portion of your SCHEDULE to marketing each week.

Wishing you all the best in Kicking Your Own Butt and in building a Kick Butt business in the process.
