The Cimex CR48DF diamond finisher includes:
~ 2 hp motor
~ 880 rpm
~ 35 pound weight collar
~ velcro drivers
~ free shipping to a commercial address

We sell this as a machine package, it doesn't come with diamonds or powder.

The diamond finisher is the machine to go for if you're really serious about marble restoration as a main line of business. It's quite an impressive machine. My brother Dave has 2 of them that he uses in his marble restoration business.

We sell the CR48DF for $3995. I can discount this machine to $3795 and still include the free shipping if you're interested.

Giovanni,

Yes, both of Dave's machines are the 880 rpm models. And yes you're correct, the 880 is great for grinding but it's too fast for powder polishing. This is why Dave uses a weighted rotary machine for powder polishing. He also borrows one of our 400 rpm machines with the weight kit sometimes, and it works fine for polishing. The 880 rpm machine ROCKS for grinding. It's real fast! But it won't go into the realm of polishing. The cool thing about the slower 400 rpm machine is that it can grind (a bit slower than the 880 rpm machine) and it can also polish (at the about the same rate of speed as a rotary) so you can cover all bases with one machine. I'm sure you're going to love Bertoli's class next month. You might also consider Fred Heuston www.ntc-stone.com

Re: DF or standard R48

Hi Giovanni,

The 880 rpm DF machine would be my recommendation if your main line of work with that machine will be grinding. It is a monster. It's heavier. It has the 2 HP motor. It has a weight collar. It has a skirt and vac port for dry grinding. It spins twice as fast. Everything about it says "this is the one for stone". The only advantages to the 400 is that it can also be used for polishing, and it's less expensive. However you can use a weighted rotary machine for polishing, and the difference in cost amounts to nothing when you put it next to the revenue the machine will generate. The beautiful thing about the package for marble that we have is that it complements the 400 rpm machines that tons of cleaners already have, and so it opens up a new door of opportunity. But if stone is where your heart is, then the DF would be the one to look at.
