running a pile lifter over the damp carpet with the vac motor unplugged. That would groom out the swirl marks... then you'd have stripes in the pile instead of circles. The markings in the carpet form the agitation will walk and vacuum out after a couple of days. Inform your customer what to expect and they should be OK with it.
