My Cimex needs help.

June 11 2005 at 2:24 PM

For some reason when the head on the Cimex is tilted back it leaks a lot of fluid out of the deck. The fluid comes out between the blue deck and the white thing that screws into it. I have to tear it down and figure it out and was wondering what should I look for?

not sure, but sounds like 1 or more of the three small "caps" are missing. these are the "caps" that we all need to remove when we clean out the Cimex solution lines as Rick has described several times in the past.

this reminds me, Rick : can you get ahold of replacement "caps"? mine are breaking apart a little bit from jimmying them out with a screwdriver head.

if you do, i want to order 6 of them.

thanx --- Derek.

I need some of those caps too, but the fluid is coming from inside the deck.

Kevin,

The reason that the fluid is flowing from inside the drive deck is because it's not flowing through the plumbing like it should be. The plumbing gets plugged with mineral deposits, dust, fuzz, coagulated detergent, etc. So it needs to cleaned regularly. Clean it out and you'll be in good shape.

Here's a link that describes how to clean it.

I'll add one thing to the instructions in the link... When you remove the plugs you can take a piece of coat hanger wire and wiggle it around in the hole to scrape the crud free. Then spray it out with water.

Thanks for the help. Friday we cleaned the Cimex lines out and I bet that some little pieces of trash got left in there. I will check it out.
