Tea Tree is heat sensitive...just a reminder.

as most, if not all, essential oils are heat sensitive, it's best not to leave them baking in your van all day. especially direct sunlight, which is why them puttem in brown bottles. if you can, keep the TT oil in your house and maybe keep it in your lunch box/cooler during the work day...looking at all the cheap TT oil on eBay, my wife reminded me.

thanx --- Derek.

Derek,

Thanks for the tip, but I'm not sure that Tea Tree is as heat sensitive as you're thinking. I live in Florida, as you know. We normally keep a 4 oz. bottle of Tea Tree oil in each of our cleaning trucks for several months at a time (often it takes us a year or more to go through a bottle because we don't need to use it very often). The Florida heat doesn't seem to be harming the potency of the Tea Tree, at least not for the odor treatment tasks we use it for. There doesn't appear to be any change in the characteristics of the Tea Tree, even with hot storage over an extended period of time. My guess is that you'll be fine leaving it in a hot truck too.

Tea Tree Oil

Just got my 2oz. bottle from Wal-mart for 5 bucks. Herbal Harvest brand claims 100% pure. I'll be testing it out in the coming days to see if it is the same quality and strength as the more expensive GNC brand... Have a happy 4th..

There are different grades of essential oils. Like everything else - you get what you pay for and there are no huge bargains when it comes to good Tea Tree oil. Look for a good quality pure UNCUT Tea Tree oil. If it sounds too good to be true it quite possibly is.
