What pads for what type carpet??

July 9 2005 at 6:05 AM
Shorty

Can someone please advise what pads/brushes, you would use with what type of carpet/oriental rugs.

Reason I ask is I was given three white pads to try.

One blew itself away on the first job, residential nylon.

I replaced it with a beige Fibreplus.

The three have been working okay on poly's and nylons, gradually wearing down, the white wearing down more so than the F/p pads.

Today I cleaned an extremely short pile, direct stick poly;

The white pads were nearly through to the drive board, with the Fibreplus also getting down.

I have noticed the white ones leave small amounts of pad as they break up, just like cotton wool.

They were tearing as I took them off to replace with all beige F/p pads.

I have not as yet, used the heavier grey fibreplus pads.

Nor have I as yet used the brushes, although I think their turn will come in the soak tank with some oriental rugs.

I would just like qualification for what I am doing, or not doing right.

As always, all replies are very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Shorty.

Shorty,

The standard FiberPlus pads are good on any type of carpet fiber.
It's a one size fits all approach. They work safely on everything.

The FiberPlus MAX are good for all types of commercial fiber.
The MAX pads are even suited for wool commercial carpets.
The advantage to the MAX is that they dig in and are more productive.
You just need to use reasonable caution, keeping in mind that they're more aggressive so you;ll want to keep the machine moving.

The 4807 brushes are good for oriental rugs. These are what most of the in house rug washing plants use.

BTW Shorty did you notice that we put a link back on the forum for the AUSSIE board? Take care bud!
